The international community's reluctance to extend formal recognition to Somaliland beyond Israel's December 2025 decision continues to anchor trader expectations that no additional country will act by June 30. The Somali Federal Government, backed by the African Union and statements from Egypt, Turkey, and the Arab League, has reaffirmed Somalia's territorial integrity and warned against any moves that could set precedents for border changes in Africa. Recent diplomatic outreach attributed to the UAE targeting nations such as Eswatini, Argentina, Zambia, and the Dominican Republic has produced no confirmed outcomes, while U.S. legislative efforts remain stalled in committee amid counterterrorism and stability concerns. These structural barriers and absence of new catalysts sustain the prevailing market consensus.
