National Weather Service forecasts and real-time observations indicate a high near 80°F for Chicago today, driven by persistent cloud cover, occasional light rain or sprinkles, and moderate southerly winds that limit daytime heating. This aligns with the historical average high of roughly 81°F for late August and current model consensus showing no significant warming factors like strong solar insolation or dry air advection. Trader consensus at 98.5% for 80-81°F reflects these verified conditions and the low likelihood of deviation. A sudden early clearance or unexpected shift in steering patterns could push readings slightly higher, though official guidance through evening shows limited potential for such changes.
