Recent model consensus from sources including the Met Office and regional forecasts points to a daytime high near 38–40°C for Jeddah on September 14, driven by strong solar insolation under mostly clear skies, light westerly winds, and the seasonal persistence of hot, humid Red Sea coastal conditions that limit nocturnal cooling. September climatology shows typical maxima around 36–38°C, with the current streak of 37–38°C readings reflecting above-normal departure from the 31.5°C monthly mean amid stable atmospheric patterns. Key variables differentiating 35–39°C outcomes include minor shifts in cloud cover, wind direction, or model bias in boundary-layer mixing, with the 23% market-implied odds on 39°C+ capturing upside potential if subsidence strengthens. Updated NWP runs over the next 48 hours will refine these thresholds ahead of resolution.
