Recent ensemble forecasts from global models indicate Moscow's minimum temperature on September 17 will likely fall between 11–13°C under partly cloudy skies with light southerly flow, aligning closely with the market's balanced 50% odds on 3°C or below versus 13°C or higher. This reflects typical mid-September variability, where radiative cooling overnight competes against residual warmth from daytime highs near 20°C and a lack of strong cold-air advection. Historical climatology shows average lows near 8°C, but current conditions favor milder outcomes unless a sharper high-pressure ridge develops. Updated runs from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts and Roshydromet over the next 24–48 hours will clarify whether any late cooling shifts the distribution toward the lower bins.
