The Richmond BC mayoral race on October 17 remains fragmented among more than half a dozen declared candidates, with Alexa Loo holding the highest trader-implied probability at 40 percent while Sheldon Starrett, Rob Howard, Kash Heed and others trail. A July poll showed substantial undecided voters and no candidate above 20 percent support, reflecting a crowded field where slates such as Richmond Strong and Conservative Richmond compete for overlapping voter bases on issues including taxes, spending, property rights and supervised consumption sites. Recent August candidate forums have highlighted policy contrasts without producing clear separation, and the September 1–11 nomination window plus ongoing council endorsements keep coalition-building fluid. Late polling shifts, slate announcements or turnout patterns among key demographics could consolidate support ahead of election day.
