The United States continues to press for immediate limits on Iran's nuclear program, missile capabilities, and proxy support, alongside reopening the strait to shipping, as part of any interim framework. With the May 31 deadline approaching amid a fragile ceasefire described by Trump as on "life support," trader focus centers on whether limited concessions such as asset unfreezing or partial sanctions easing could emerge before the window closes, or if deadlock persists due to incompatible positions on core security and nuclear issues.
