This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 5 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.**Trader sentiment for Hong Kong’s August 5 maximum temperature centers on the 31–33°C range because official Hong Kong Observatory guidance and climatological norms converge there.** The HKO’s morning forecast calls for sunny periods with isolated showers and a maximum around 33°C in urban areas (a couple of degrees higher in the New Territories), while early-August averages at the Observatory station sit between 31–33°C under typical southwest monsoon flow and urban heat-island effects. Model ensembles and real-time observations show light winds and scattered afternoon convection that can trim peak readings by 1–2°C relative to the hottest summer days, shifting the highest probability mass to 32°C. Seasonal outlooks for August 2026 indicate normal-to-above-normal temperatures overall, yet today’s localized moisture and cloud cover introduce enough uncertainty that traders assign only modest weight to 33°C or higher. With the measurement window closing shortly, any revision in the final HKO reading will directly resolve the market within this narrow, well-constrained band.
