Recent National Weather Service model consensus points to a high of 71–73°F in Chicago on September 14, driven by cooler northerly flow behind a frontal passage and partly cloudy skies limiting daytime heating. Current guidance from multiple sources shows highs clustered in the low-to-mid 70s, consistent with the market’s tightest probabilities on 70–73°F bins. Historical September 14 averages near 77°F provide context, yet the immediate post-frontal environment and modest dew points favor the lower end of the typical range. Traders are weighting the latest short-range runs and ensemble spread, which narrow uncertainty around the 71–73°F outcome ahead of final NWS updates.
