Recent National Weather Service and NOAA model consensus for Houston on September 14 centers on a daytime high of 93–94°F under southerly flow, with partly to mostly sunny skies and a 30–40% chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms. This pattern, driven by warm, humid Gulf air and limited mixing, supports the market’s leading 92–93°F outcome at 47% implied probability. Afternoon convection may briefly trim peak readings but is unlikely to prevent mid-90s values, which sit well above the late-September climatological average of roughly 89–90°F. Heat indices could reach 105–110°F, though maximum air temperature remains the resolution metric. Traders are weighting the stable short-term forecast heavily, with limited upside risk above 96°F or downside below 90°F unless a stronger sea-breeze front develops. Updated model runs and the next NWS discussion will provide the final data points before resolution.
