Current National Weather Service and private model consensus for San Francisco on September 20 shows an overnight low in the upper 50s under mostly cloudy skies with light west winds, consistent with the marine layer’s typical influence on coastal temperatures. Historical averages place the daily minimum near 56°F, while record lows reach 50°F during strong onshore flow. The near-even market split between 51°F or below and 70°F or higher reflects ongoing uncertainty in marine-layer depth and timing of any clearing, which can shift minimum readings by several degrees. Updated model runs and afternoon observations will refine whether stratus persists or erodes, directly affecting resolution odds for the narrower bins.
