**Forecast models from sources like the National Weather Service, WeatherBug, and others indicate a minimum temperature on September 1, 2026, in the low 70s°F for New York City, driven by a persistent warm, humid air mass with southwest flow and limited nocturnal cooling under cloudy, showery conditions.** As of August 30, short-range guidance shows overnight lows near 70–73°F, with daytime highs in the mid-80s amid 60–70% rain chances from showers and possible thunderstorms. This pattern reflects ongoing summer-like conditions without a strong cold front or high-pressure ridge to promote radiational cooling, keeping minimum temperatures elevated compared to climatological September averages. Market-implied probabilities concentrate on 72–73°F (37.5%) and adjacent bins, consistent with the consensus forecast range. Ensemble spreads and model updates in the next 24–48 hours could shift odds if a drier or cooler pocket emerges, though current data favor limited downside risk below 70°F.
