Paul St-Pierre Plamondon leads trader assessments for Quebec’s next premier due to the Parti Québécois’ sustained polling edge heading into the October 5 election. Recent surveys show the PQ holding around 29% support, ahead of the Coalition Avenir Québec under incumbent Christine Fréchette and the Liberals led by Charles Milliard, with particular strength among francophone voters in key ridings. Fréchette’s personal favorability and handling of economic pressures including U.S. tariffs provide her party some momentum, though recent debates have highlighted attacks on the CAQ’s record. First-past-the-post dynamics and seat projections reinforce Plamondon’s position as the consensus frontrunner, while lower probabilities for Milliard and others reflect limited paths to a plurality or majority. Upcoming debates and final voter shifts remain key variables.
