This market will resolve according to the winner of the Democratic Primary for Governor of Vermont, scheduled to take place on August 11, 2026. Resolution will be based on the overall winner of the primary, including any potential second round or run-off. If no 2026 Vermont Gubernatorial Democratic Primary takes place, this market will resolve to “Other.” The resolution source for this market will be the first official announcement of the results from the Vermont Democratic Party; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may suffice.Aly Richards holds the leading position in Vermont’s Democratic primary for governor because she launched an active campaign in April focused on child care funding, housing affordability, and healthcare costs. Her prior role leading a major child-care advocacy organization has given her early visibility on these issues ahead of the August 11 primary. In contrast, Attorney General Charity Clark announced a reelection bid for her current office in early May, State Treasurer Mike Pieciak has not declared a gubernatorial run, and Esther Charlestin entered the lieutenant governor race instead. The May 28 filing deadline remains the next key procedural marker that could affect the field before voters decide.
