This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins the nomination for the Democratic Party to contest the NY-17 congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The Democratic primary will take place on June 23, 2026. If no nominee is announced by November 3, 2026, 11:59PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". Any replacement of the nominee before election day will not change the resolution of the market. The Democratic primary for New York's 17th congressional district remains tightly contested ahead of the June 23 vote because the three leading candidates share broadly aligned priorities on cost-of-living issues and defeating the Republican incumbent while distinguishing themselves through contrasting records and voter bases. Beth Davidson draws strength from her experience as a Rockland County legislator with a history of winning competitive local races, Cait Conley highlights her Army veteran background and national security roles to appeal across party lines, and Effie Phillips-Staley positions herself as a coalition-builder focused on progressive voters after securing Working Families Party support. April candidate forums and recent county-level endorsement splits have not produced decisive separation, leaving primary voters to weigh personal profiles and geographic ties in a field with limited policy contrasts and substantial undecided support.
