Lula da Silva maintains a commanding lead in Alagoas first-round voting intentions for Brazil’s October 4, 2026 presidential election, reflecting the incumbent’s entrenched regional strength in the Northeast. Recent national polls show Lula ahead overall, with particularly robust backing among lower-income, Catholic, and female voters who form key blocs in the state. His re-election bid benefits from incumbency advantages, ongoing policy focus on social programs, and limited organized opposition from right-leaning challengers such as Flávio Bolsonaro, whose running mate hails from Alagoas yet has not shifted state-level dynamics. Trader consensus at 97% probability for Lula in first place accounts for these structural factors. A late scandal, sharp economic downturn, or unexpected consolidation behind a regional alternative could still alter the outcome before election day.
