Flávio Bolsonaro holds a commanding lead in São Paulo polling for the October 4 first round, with recent surveys showing him at 41% against President Lula’s 35% and no other candidate reaching double digits. This positioning stems from strong support in Brazil’s largest electoral college, where right-leaning voters favor the Liberal Party senator’s platform on security and economic issues, reinforced by his father’s endorsement and international backing. São Paulo-specific data from mid-September consistently places him ahead on valid votes, driving trader consensus on his first-place finish. Potential shifts could arise from higher-than-expected turnout among undecided or opposition voters, last-minute campaign events, or changes in rejection rates ahead of the vote.
