The race for first place in the Federal District first round remains fragmented, with national polling averages placing incumbent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in the low 40s and Flávio Bolsonaro in the low-to-mid 30s amid a crowded field that includes Ronaldo Caiado, Romeu Zema, Renan Santos, and others in single digits. Trader pricing reflects this uncertainty, as local voter priorities such as public security, federal employment stability, and Brasília-specific governance overlap with polarized national divides between the Workers’ Party and Liberal Party bases. Recent June audio revelations and temporary family tensions around Flávio Bolsonaro have not produced sustained shifts, while Lula’s incumbency advantages in debt-relief measures and alliances have held steady without decisive local momentum. Upcoming campaign intensification, DF-specific endorsements, turnout among public-sector and military voters, and any late polling focused on the capital region could widen gaps before the October 4 ballot.
