Recent U.S. retail egg prices, measured by the BLS average for Grade A large eggs, stood at $2.27 per dozen in August 2026 after a modest 3.8% month-over-month rise, down sharply from 2025 peaks above $6 amid flock recovery following 2025 avian influenza losses. Wholesale benchmarks have collapsed to roughly 36 cents per dozen, reflecting oversupply as producers rebuilt laying capacity faster than demand absorbed output, though elevated feed, fuel, and labor costs continue to support margins above breakeven levels. With September data still forming and no major new outbreaks reported, trader-implied odds cluster tightly around the $2.10–$2.30 range, pricing in continued stabilization rather than renewed spikes or deeper declines.

The St. Louis Fed bases its numbers for egg prices on the BLS's CPI release. The September release is presently scheduled for October 14, 2026. Resolution of this market will take place upon the update of the St. Louis Fed's chart. If no data for the specified month is released by the date the next month's data is scheduled to be released, this market will resolve based on data from the last available month.
The resolution source for this market measures prices to the third decimal place. Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket.
