Scott Gillingham, the incumbent Winnipeg mayor seeking a second term in the October 2026 municipal election, holds a commanding lead in trader pricing amid a crowded field of registered challengers including Johnny Calderon, Umar Hayat, Joshua Pagdato, Michael Vogiatzakis, Mazher Alam, Noah Redden, Christopher Clacio, and others. A June 2026 Probe Research poll indicated substantial voter dissatisfaction, with only 19 percent favoring his re-election and 46 percent preferring a different mayor, though few respondents saw strong alternatives among the novices and repeat candidates. Recent candidate registrations have expanded the ballot without producing a clear frontrunner to consolidate opposition, reinforcing Gillingham's advantage through incumbency and name recognition ahead of the vote.
