Recent National Weather Service forecasts and short-range model guidance project a Wednesday high in the low-to-mid 90s for Houston, with 60-70% chances of showers and thunderstorms that increase afternoon cloud cover and limit peak solar heating. This setup, combined with Gulf moisture and modest south-southeast flow, keeps surface temperatures from reaching the upper 90s seen earlier in the week. Trader consensus clusters on 86-89°F because the precise timing and coverage of convection remain uncertain; stronger or earlier storms could cap readings near 86-87°F, while delayed or scattered activity favors 90-91°F. Historical September averages near 91°F provide context, yet the current pattern favors slightly below-normal maxima. Updated model runs and NWS briefings tomorrow morning will sharpen resolution criteria.
