Recent National Weather Service and private forecast guidance points to a high in the low-to-mid 70s on August 31 under partly cloudy skies with light northerly flow, consistent with the market’s tight clustering around the 72–77 °F bins. Persistent marine influence and a cool late-August pattern across the Pacific Northwest have kept daytime maxima near or slightly below the 1991–2020 climatological average of 74.5 °F, while model consensus shows only modest afternoon warming once any morning cloud cover burns off. Low precipitation chances and stable high pressure limit the upside risk, yet small differences in boundary-layer mixing and exact cloud timing create the observed spread among the three leading outcomes. Updated NWS model runs and afternoon observations will be the next key data points before resolution.
