An incoming early-September Pacific storm system is the dominant driver suppressing Seattle's September 2 high temperature, with National Weather Service and private-model consensus pointing to widespread cloud cover, periods of rain, and south winds limiting daytime heating. This setup favors a daily maximum in the mid- to upper 60s—well below the 1991–2020 climatological average of 73.9 °F—while reducing the likelihood of readings near or above 70 °F. Recent model runs and updated zone forecasts issued September 1 reinforce this cooler, breezy regime, aligning with the market's heaviest weighting on the 64–69 °F bins. Traders are effectively pricing the high probability of marine-layer influence and reduced insolation rather than any return to late-summer warmth.
