Recent National Weather Service and private model consensus indicates marine stratus and onshore flow will limit San Francisco’s peak temperature on September 3 to the upper 60s, with widespread cloud cover and light drizzle possible. This pattern aligns with climatological norms for early September, when the marine layer typically caps highs near the 69–70 °F long-term average. The market’s heaviest volume on 70–71 °F and 68–69 °F reflects traders weighting the possibility of partial clearing or slightly warmer inland advection, while lower-probability bins account for deeper marine influence or model underestimation of afternoon mixing. Updated NWS guidance and afternoon observations tomorrow will refine the exact maximum before resolution.
