Recent polling trends position Latvia First (LPV) as the narrow frontrunner for the October 2026 Saeima election, reflecting voter dissatisfaction with the incumbent New Unity (JV)-led coalition amid economic pressures and cultural debates. The tight contest among LPV, JV, the Progressives (PRO), and National Alliance (NA) stems from Latvia's fragmented party system, where no single list consistently clears a decisive lead and coalition arithmetic remains fluid. JV's recent poll declines contrast with LPV's steady gains among diverse voter bases, while PRO and NA maintain core support that could influence post-election negotiations. Upcoming campaign developments, including coalition signals and turnout among Russian-speaking voters, hold potential to shift seat projections under the 5% threshold rule.
