**PQ's sustained polling lead, especially among francophone voters, underpins the market's strong consensus for a PQ victory in the October 5, 2026, Quebec general election.** Recent surveys show the Parti Québécois holding around 30% support, ahead of the PLQ and CAQ, with clearer advantages in key regions that translate into favorable seat projections under first-past-the-post rules. The April 2026 leadership transition in the governing CAQ—following François Legault’s resignation and Christine Fréchette’s selection as premier—has coincided with further erosion of CAQ support amid voter fatigue after years in office. The PLQ remains competitive in some anglophone and suburban areas but trails overall, while QS, PCQ, and PVQ register minimal shares. Traders appear to weigh these dynamics, including historical patterns of incumbency challenges and vote distribution, when pricing PQ as the clear frontrunner.
