Recent National Weather Service forecasts indicate overnight lows in the mid-to-upper 60s°F for Chicago on August 26, driven by moderating southerly flow, partial cloud cover, and Lake Michigan’s thermal influence that limits radiational cooling. This aligns with the market’s tight clustering around 66–69°F outcomes, reflecting model consensus on minimal cold-air advection ahead of a warm frontal passage. Historical normals near 64°F provide context, yet current guidance shows a modest warm bias from elevated dew points and weak winds, with resolution hinging on the precise minimum recorded at official stations. Updated model runs and NWS briefings over the next 24 hours remain the key variables traders are monitoring.
