Recent federal indictments against the Southern Poverty Law Center and a former executive for alleged wire fraud and related offenses tied to informant payments have not shifted trader views on this specific market. High confidence in "No" stems from narrow resolution criteria focused on direct criminal liability for extremism funding, combined with the organization's nonprofit status, historical donor practices, and procedural hurdles in proving intent to support designated groups. Legal defenses emphasizing informant networks as standard intelligence-gathering further reinforce the consensus. Realistic scenarios that could alter the outcome include superseding indictments naming additional individuals, state-level actions by attorneys general, or new evidence from congressional oversight surfacing within the market's timeframe.
