Incumbent Mike Johnson holds a commanding position in Louisiana’s 4th congressional district ahead of the November 3, 2026 nonpartisan primary. The solidly Republican district, reflected in its partisan voting index and prior election margins exceeding 80 percent for the incumbent, favors an outright first-round victory under the state’s majority-vote system. Johnson’s substantial fundraising advantage, national profile as Speaker, and limited primary opposition—two low-profile Democrats and two minor Republican challengers—support broad consolidation of Republican votes. Recent candidate filings and the absence of competitive polling or significant campaign developments have reinforced trader expectations that one candidate will surpass the 50 percent threshold without a December runoff.
