Official NWS forecasts project a high near 92°F for Houston on September 11 amid a humid air mass with southeast winds of 5 mph or less and a 40-50% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. These convective clouds and precipitation can suppress peak heating by limiting surface insolation, while the warm, moist environment supports temperatures reaching the low to mid-90s if storms remain scattered. Recent model runs show limited day-to-day shifts, with historical September averages near 89°F providing climatological context. Trader consensus across the 88-93°F bins reflects uncertainty in exact convective timing and coverage, as new short-range guidance and afternoon observations could refine the outcome before resolution.
