Recent National Weather Service guidance and supporting model consensus point to a Friday high near 77°F in Chicago under mostly sunny skies and light southeast flow, placing the market's modest 11.5% on 76-77°F in line with the baseline forecast. Trader preference for 78-81°F outcomes reflects typical ensemble spread in short-range guidance, where modest warming from stronger southerly advection or reduced cloud cover could push readings a few degrees higher before the diurnal peak. Historical climatology shows an average high of roughly 78°F for the date, providing context for the tight clustering around that level. Key resolution factors include official Chicago observations at O'Hare or Midway, with upcoming afternoon model runs and NWS forecast discussions likely to refine the exact maximum.
