Recent National Weather Service and model guidance indicate a typical marine layer-influenced pattern for Los Angeles on September 17, with morning low clouds and fog giving way to afternoon clearing under moderate onshore southwest flow. This setup supports afternoon highs near the historical average of 76°F at downtown and airport stations, keeping the 76-77°F bin as the market leader. Stable GFS and other ensemble runs through September 16 show little day-to-day shift, with no offshore winds or upper-level ridging to drive warmer outcomes. Traders appear to weigh the narrow historical range for mid-September against the low probability of significant deviation, reflected in the combined 86.5% implied probability for 74-77°F. Updated short-range forecasts tomorrow morning will provide the final observational anchor for resolution.
