Trader consensus on NYC's September 18 high temperature centers on low-80s readings because National Weather Service and model guidance consistently project a peak near 80–82°F under mostly sunny skies and light northerly flow. Clear conditions allow strong daytime solar heating above the seasonal average of 75.6°F, while modest winds limit vertical mixing that could cap the maximum. Slight differences between the 80–81°F and 82–83°F bins reflect uncertainty in exact peak timing and any afternoon cloud buildup, with traders weighting recent model runs that favor the upper end of the range. Resolution hinges on official Central Park observations once the daily maximum is recorded.
