Recent National Weather Service and private model guidance for Denver points to an overnight low near 49–51°F on September 20, driven by increasing cloud cover, scattered showers, and reduced radiational cooling ahead of a weak frontal passage. Trader consensus, reflected in the 30% probability on 54–55°F and balanced support for 50–53°F bins, incorporates uncertainty in exact storm timing and boundary-layer moisture, which can raise or suppress the minimum by several degrees. Key variables include nocturnal cloud fraction, wind speeds above 5–10 mph that limit cooling, and any earlier precipitation that stabilizes the boundary layer. Historical mid-September climatology (typical lows near 50°F) provides context, while the next NWS forecast updates and high-resolution model runs will likely narrow the distribution before resolution.
