Wang Chung-ming, the incumbent Kuomintang magistrate of Lienchiang County, holds a dominant position ahead of the November 28, 2026 local elections, backed by his party's June nomination and prior victory over independent challenger Tsao Erh-yuan in 2022. This strongly KMT-leaning locality has seen consistent party control of the magistrate post, with limited opposition activity and no Democratic Progressive Party nominee registered. Trader consensus on Wang reflects his incumbency, local support base, and the absence of viable alternatives, while Tsao's low odds align with his repeat independent bid. No major developments have shifted the race in recent weeks, though candidate registration deadlines in early September could clarify the field.
