Recent National Weather Service and model guidance indicate Houston overnight lows on September 1 will likely settle in the upper 70s amid continued summer heat and high humidity. Persistent southerly flow, elevated dew points near 75°F, and limited radiational cooling under partly to mostly cloudy skies from an approaching Gulf disturbance support this range, consistent with the market's leading 78–81°F bins. A 30–50% chance of showers and thunderstorms may add cloud cover and slight mixing, while the ongoing El Niño pattern sustains above-normal temperatures across the southern Plains. Historical September 1 lows average near 75°F, but current conditions and short-range ensembles show little deviation from recent warm nights, keeping cooler outcomes below 76°F at lower implied probabilities ahead of the next forecast updates.
