Recent National Weather Service and model guidance point to overnight lows in the low 70s for New York City on September 13, driven by a warm, humid air mass with southerly flow and widespread cloud cover plus showers that limit radiational cooling. Forecasts cluster between roughly 70°F and 73°F, with the tight split between the 70-71°F and 72-73°F bins reflecting minor differences in how quickly any evening rain ends and whether winds shift northwest enough to allow modest additional cooling. Persistent moisture and a lack of clear skies keep the floor elevated relative to seasonal normals, while any earlier clearing or stronger cold advection could push the minimum toward the lower end of the range. Updated model runs and official forecast discussions expected through the evening will provide the next key data points for resolution.
