Chung Tung-chin, the incumbent Miaoli County magistrate running as an independent, holds an 88.5% implied probability in the market, reflecting his strong position ahead of the November 28, 2026 election. His re-election prospects benefit from incumbency advantages, including a June 2026 award for improved administrative satisfaction ratings and continuity in local governance. The Democratic Progressive Party's nominee, Chen Pin-an, trails significantly at 4.7%, consistent with limited polling visibility and the challenges opposition candidates face against an established officeholder in this county. Multiple other candidates appear at lower or placeholder levels, underscoring a field where vote fragmentation and historical independent success in Miaoli have shaped trader assessments of likely outcomes. No major recent legal or campaign developments have materially altered this positioning.
