Recent GFS and other model runs indicate clear skies and light southerly to southeasterly winds overnight into September 21, supporting minimum temperatures near 14–16 °C at Cape Town International Airport. This aligns with the current warm anomaly relative to the September climatological minimum of about 10 °C, driven by stable high pressure and limited nocturnal cooling under dry conditions. Trader consensus around 10 °C or below versus 14 °C reflects remaining spread in hourly model outputs and potential microclimate differences between official stations, with resolution hinging on the precise 24-hour low recorded. Updated forecasts through the evening of the 20th will refine the expected overnight range.
