The St. Louis Fed bases its numbers for egg prices on the BLS's CPI release. The August release is presently scheduled for September 11, 2026. The resolution source for this market measures prices to the third decimal place. Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket.Recent retail egg prices, as tracked by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, have stabilized near $2.14–$2.19 per dozen in June and July 2026 after sharp declines from 2025 peaks above $6. This reflects a pronounced supply rebound following highly pathogenic avian influenza losses, with layer flocks rebuilt aggressively and wholesale values dropping below 70 cents amid oversupply and softer post-holiday demand. Elevated imports in 2025 further eased shortages while feed and production costs remain elevated for producers. With no major outbreaks reported recently and inventories near multi-year highs, trader-implied probabilities cluster in the $2.10–$2.40 range, consistent with the latest monthly averages and limited near-term catalysts before August resolution.
