Trujillo's October 4, 2026 municipal election features a highly fragmented field of more than 15 candidates, keeping implied probabilities tightly clustered among the leading contenders. The incumbent, Mario Colberth Reyna Rodríguez, holds a modest edge in trader consensus, followed closely by Carlos Enrique Alva Rojas and Víctor Julio León Álvarez, while the remaining options trade at lower levels consistent with vote-splitting dynamics typical in Peru's multi-candidate local races. Recent candidate registrations confirmed by the JNE and early campaign activity have reinforced the absence of a clear frontrunner, with no major polling aggregates or endorsements yet producing decisive separation. Upcoming debates, party alliances, and local issue focus on security and infrastructure could shift momentum before election day.
