Recent National Weather Service and private model guidance points to an overnight low in Atlanta on September 8 near 68–71 °F, driven by easterly winds advecting cooler, moister air after several days of mid-90s heat and scattered storms. This pattern has produced a modest cooldown, with surface observations and ensemble means showing upper-60s readings under mostly clear skies following any evening showers. Historical September climatology places the average low near 68 °F, so current conditions align closely with the tightly bunched market leaders at 70–71 °F and 72–73 °F. Key uncertainties remain in exact dew-point recovery and boundary-layer mixing overnight; fresh model runs and local NWS forecast discussions expected in the next 24–48 hours will clarify whether the minimum settles in the mid-to-upper 60s or edges into the low 70s.
