Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance points to partly sunny conditions with light northerly winds moderating Seattle's high temperature on September 5 into the upper 60s to low 70s. Persistent marine layer influence and variable afternoon cloud cover create the tight clustering around 66–71°F, as even modest increases in insolation or delayed clearing could push readings across the 69–70°F threshold. This setup aligns closely with early-September climatology near 70°F, where small differences in boundary-layer mixing and sea-breeze timing produce the observed market balance rather than a dominant outlier. Updated model runs and midday observations on September 4 will refine the exact ceiling.
