Recent polls place the SPD at 27–29 percent ahead of the September 20, 2026 Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Landtag election, down sharply from its 39.6 percent result in 2021, while the AfD leads at 35–36 percent. With 71 seats allocated proportionally and a five-percent threshold, this support level points to roughly 19–22 seats for the SPD, though small shifts in turnout, minor-party performance, or late voter movement could easily push the total below 18 or above 22. The tight distribution across the three lowest market outcomes reflects this narrow band of plausible results, compounded by uncertainty over final coalition math and any last-minute campaign developments in the remaining six weeks.
