Recent polling has introduced volatility into Berlin's September 20 state election, with AfD topping an INSA survey for the first time in July amid broader national gains for the party in eastern states. Vote shares remain fragmented across Linke, CDU, Greens, and AfD in the high teens, reflecting divided urban voter priorities on migration, housing, and coalition fatigue with the current CDU-SPD government. This multi-party competition sustains tight trader ranges around 26-31 AfD seats in the 147-seat Abgeordnetenhaus, as modest swings in turnout or late shifts among undecided voters could consolidate or dilute AfD support without producing a dominant outcome. Upcoming September contests elsewhere may influence momentum but leave Berlin's result sensitive to local dynamics.
