This market will resolve to "Yes" if there is a confirmed case of Ebola in the territory of the specified country reported between market creation and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Any active laboratory-confirmed, or otherwise officially confirmed, Ebola infection identified within the territory of the specified country will qualify, regardless of where exposure, symptom onset, or testing occurred. The primary resolution sources for this market will be official information from the relevant national and international health authorities; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting will also suffice.Ongoing Ebola transmission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo since mid-May 2026 has driven trader focus, with over 7,600 confirmed cases and nearly 3,700 deaths reported across seven provinces by mid-September, fueled by the Bundibugyo strain, conflict-related displacement, and tracing challenges. Limited imported cases reached Uganda (around 20, with the cluster contained and no new infections since June) and one in France, but no sustained community spread has occurred outside DRC. Neighboring countries face elevated risk from cross-border movement, though response efforts and the absence of vaccines specific to this strain shape uncertainty around further international detections before year-end.
