Current National Weather Service and private model consensus for Austin on September 8 points to a mostly sunny day with highs of 98–99 °F under southerly flow and minimal cloud cover, consistent with the market’s leading 43.5 % probability for that bin. Recent runs show a modest warming trend from the mid-90s on September 6–7, supported by high pressure and heat indices near 110 °F. Historical September 8 averages near 93 °F, but 2026 conditions have trended above normal. Lower-probability bins above 102 °F would require stronger subsidence or model shifts not yet indicated, while cooler outcomes remain unlikely given the current steering pattern. Updated NWS guidance and next model cycles will be the key near-term catalysts.
