The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve to "Yes" until data for this date has been finalized. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is finalized for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.Hong Kong Observatory forecasts indicate a maximum temperature around 26-27°C for May 16 amid partly cloudy conditions with isolated showers, driving trader consensus toward these closely matched outcomes at 35.5% and 33.0% implied probabilities. This positioning reflects May's climatological norms—average highs of 28-29°C—but tempered by frequent moist southerly airflow fostering convective clouds that limit solar insolation and peak heating. Differentiating factors include cloud cover extent and timing of any afternoon showers: fuller overcast favors 26°C via reduced surface warming, while sunnier intervals could push to 27°C or 28°C (14.5%). Model consensus from short-range guidance shows tight uncertainty bands, with final hourly updates from the Observatory expected before resolution based on King's Park measurements.
