Recent July 2026 PPI YoY data at 4.7%—below the 4.9% consensus and down from June’s 5.5%—anchors trader positioning for the August reading due September 10. The flat month-over-month print, driven by a 0.7% drop in goods prices offset by modest services gains, signals moderating wholesale pressures amid softer energy costs and labor-market cooling. This has produced a tight distribution across 4.6%–5.1%+ outcomes, with market-implied odds reflecting uncertainty over whether the downtrend persists or rebounds toward prior highs. Core measures at 4.2% YoY add to the mixed signals, while the next FOMC meeting and any interim commodity or employment data remain key swing factors for final August pricing.

The resolution source for this market will be the BLS Producer Price Index report released for August 2026 (https://www.bls.gov/ppi/), currently scheduled to be released on September 10, 2026, at 8:30 AM ET. Resolution of this market will take place upon release of the aforementioned data.
Note: the resolution source for this market will be the official monthly BLS PPI news release, which reports PPI over 12-month periods to only one decimal point (e.g., 6.0%).
