Morocco’s parliamentary elections on September 23 will determine which party secures the most seats in the House of Representatives, from which King Mohammed VI appoints the next prime minister under the constitution. Aziz Akhannouch has stepped down as RNI leader ahead of the vote, opening the field, while Fouzi Lekjaa’s recent affiliation with PAM has strengthened that party’s profile alongside Istiqlal. The three-party governing coalition faces a fragmented contest with no outright majority expected, requiring post-election negotiations. Trader odds reflect this uncertainty, with leading names such as Mohamed Chaouki, Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, and Mohamed Ouzzine holding comparable implied probabilities amid competing party machines, territorial candidates, and voter priorities on employment and services. Late campaign developments or coalition signals could quickly shift positioning before results are finalized.
