Incumbent Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow maintains a commanding position in the race for the October 26, 2026 municipal election, with recent Liaison Strategies polling showing her at 50 percent support among decided voters compared to 37 percent for her closest challenger, Councillor Brad Bradford. This 13-point lead aligns with earlier surveys that placed her ahead by 11 to 18 points after former Mayor John Tory ruled out a comeback. Chow’s 55 to 56 percent approval rating, particularly strong in downtown areas, combined with a still-fragmented field of lower-profile candidates, has shaped trader consensus around her re-election prospects. Bradford, the first major contender to declare following the May 1 opening of nominations, remains the primary alternative amid lingering undecided voters.
